Today I’m sharing a corner of my home I don’t share all that often – my dining space. Living in an open plan flat where the kitchen, dining and living room are all under one roof, I’ve often found my little round dining table squashed into the corner and forgotten about. Let’s face it, dining for one is much easier on the sofa, watching TV, then setting the table. But when Studio.co.uk asked me if I wanted to update my dining accessories for the new season as part of my brand ambassadorship with them, I decided to give it a go.
Let me start by being completely honest and saying, I never expected to find such trend-led pieces when looking online. Yes, we know by now I think Studio is always great quality, especially for the price point. But did I ever think I was going to find the most amazing Scandi-inspired dining and kitchen additions? Nope.
I love the mix of mint green, whites and turquoise – especially against the wooden kettle which is probably the coolest, most kitsch things I have in my whole house. This is definitely a love it or hate it item and I’m firmly in the former camp. The pans, meanwhile, carry the natural element through with wood effect handles. Available in a pair, these are just too pretty to put away in a cupboard, and they match my mint green Smeg perfectly. Does anyone else only have pretty kitchenware out on the side even though you very rarely use it?
The Sabichi St Ives 12 piece stoneware plates, meanwhile, were the perfect way to add a pop of colour to the table, and I love the way the set co-ordinates but doesn’t match completely. Plus, it’s always nice to have a full dining set for when guests come over because at the moment I’m rocking three of each Ikea plate I’ve ever bought.
Finally, I knew the grey dipped glazed mugs, which are available in a pack of six, would be the perfect addition to this Scandi-inspired dining space. Both dishwasher and microwave safe, this is my favourite mug to pull out for a peppermint tea whilst reading my emails on a morning now.
Are you a fan of any of these pieces? I’m currently planning a complete makeover for my living room and dining room so expect a moodboard post coming soon on that, but the vibe is going to be a very light, neutral Scandi/Californian feel and I can’t wait to show you. Let me know below if anything here catches your eye, especially if you love that kettle as much as I do.
