Who else got excited when you read the words “office updates”? I know you did. And you. There’s something about that elusive September feeling that makes you want to go out, buy new stationery and decorate your office, right? I’ve well and truly got that new school year feeling and these new additions from Studio have tied my desk together perfectly.
Buying new office bits and bobs is one of those amazing feelings that doesn’t lessen despite aging. From 8 to 84, buying a brand new journal and pen always feels a little indulgent. Those first pages filled with nothing less than perfect handwriting. For me, the alluring appeal of a fresh notebook has everything to do with starting a fresh chapter, pages of unwritten space waiting to be filled with my goals and plans ahead for the next couple of months. That’s exactly how September feels.
Do you ever run your fingers across new homeware as if it were a newborn baby? I know I do. I did when I unwrapped this lamp. I’m not ashamed to call my new lamp sexy. It’s downright sexy. It’s tall, curvy in the right places, with a hint of glamour. Called the Bauhaus table lamp, it was exactly what that corner of my desk needed, especially when I’m working into the night.
Available in cream, grey, and ochre and priced at £61.99, there’s also a floor lamp in the same style which would work well in my living room.
The next addition this perfectly sized VQ Retro Mini Bluetooth DAB radio. The one thing that’s really helped combat the loneliness in my office alone most days, as silly as it sounds, is finding great podcasts and radio stations to listen to as I work. Up until now, I’ve been blasting the kitchen radio out in the other room so this cream Retro Mini to add my laptop is very much welcomed – especially by my neighbour downstairs.
Wrapped in a premium leatherette, features include DAB, DAB+, FM radio tuner, Bluetooth connectivity, three-year warranty for extra peace of mind, single ultra-wide full range speaker with MyEQ function, wooden construction for audio fidelity, aux-in, headphone and USB charging ports. And the price? £59.99 through Studio. How amazing is that? I’d recommend the VQ Retro Mini so much I actually gave my mum one for her birthday a few years back, which she absolutely loved. And I wouldn’t give any old thing to my mum, trust me.
So there you have it, two new office additions, and one happy Victoria listening to Kisstory all day as she blogs. Is there a better radio station that Kisstory? I didn’t think so.
