There are two big reasons to celebrate right now. One, no work tomorrow and two, I’ve finally finished my spare room makeover. Hallelujah. And I could not be happier with how the space has turned out. I’ve found myself just coming to sit in here and read because it’s so fresh and light. You can find my before pictures in my previous post, along with a little inspiration of the look I was going for. But to give you a quick idea, it was magnolia, bland and basically filled with all the crap I didn’t want anywhere else in the house.

After a huge spring clean, and a fresh lick of Absolute White paint by B&Q, I was ready to add my colourful touches to the room…

My favourite piece in the whole room has to be my Scandinavian desk from Wayfair. Even though I nearly passed out carrying it up three flights of stairs, it was pretty easy to build and looks fab in this space. It’s just the right size and although I read a couple of reviews on the site saying how the drawers were hard to open, I’m not sure if I was just the lucky one, as these worked perfectly. Oh, and having just looked at the website, it’s been reduced by a whopping £50 right now.

Having a pretty desk to work at definitely makes it easier to come in here and get my blog on. And it’s especially comfy with my new Rose & Grey Eames-inspired chair, which I bought with a voucher I won from the brand recently.

Coming a close second to my favourite part of the room is my amazing new bedding from Joules, in my favourite blue and white print. I often like to contrast prints so I ordered the polka dot pillowcases, as well as the Oxford pillowcases, and teamed them with three new cushion covers from Ikea’s latest range. The rich blues seem to match perfectly and I love the end result. I just want to lie down as we speak but my cats seem to agree with how nice it is and have set up camp. Probably because the sheets are so damn soft.

No room of mine could be complete without flowers and you’ll be able to spot three sets of artificial bunches from Homesense which I’ve collected along the way. I bought this gorgeous recycled glass jar for my hydrangeas, again from Rose & Grey, and the pretty aqua and white vase above from Homesense when I popped in Friday morning. These are the perfect match for my mint reading lamp, and these freshness of the colours work so well against the white walls.

Around the room I also have various pieces of artwork, which I’ve been kindly sent or bought myself. The two huge posters above my bed were gifted to me by PosterLounge, which is a great website selling literally hundreds of posters, from art deco inspired prints (as seen on my bedside table above), to typography and graphic designs, which I decided to order and frame to act as a headboard focal point above my bed.

I love the light pink print “I Work Because I Love This Shit” print, which I thought was very fitting for an office space. Plus, the graphic mountains “A New Day” print really adds a injection of colour to the room and catches your eye as soon as you enter the room. Who can argue with £14.90 each. The other pieces of artwork were all bought from Etsy and I plan on doing a proper post to show these off properly soon.

My drawer unit, by the way, definitely has to be my bargain of the whole makeover, costing £25 from Ikea and I literally sprayed the handles brass which instantly makes it look so much chicer. Plus it was super easy to build and that’s always a plus for me.

On top of my drawers you’ll spot a gold basket, which again I bought from Rose & Grey and it’s ideal to hold my books and magazines for when I get around to reading the properly.

I am so, so happy with out this space has come together and even though it’s taken me a good month to get it all sorted, if I’d had the money and time, I could have done it in a weekend easily. What do you think to my spare room makeover? Any pieces here that catch your eye? I’d love to know what you think.

*Some of these pieces have been gifted to me but my thoughts are always honest.
