One of my favourite posts to write, and read for that matter, are introductory posts to brands you might not have heard about previously. Today I want to share my latest find, Bridgman.
Celebrating its 40th year in business this year, Bridgman is a family-run business which sells luxury home and garden furniture. Founded by Peter Bridgman, the company is now run by his two sons, Robert and Alex.
If I was to describe Bridgman in terms of style, it would be classic with a modern twist. The Highgate & Kensington table set above, for example, wouldn’t look out of place in a country cottage, but the splayed legs and vibrant purple chairs mean it works just as well in a modern townhouse.
Although furniture isn’t your first thought when it comes to buying gifts for Christmas, Bridgman offers some gorgeous decorative items that might be worth considering if you’re struggling for your mum or aunty for example, with brands on offer from Georg Jensen barware to Villeroy & Boch crockery to Voyage Maison cushions and throws.
Cushions are the perfect gift idea, especially for someone who has recently moved into their first home, and like I’ve mentioned previously, it’s a great way to update your space without having to invest in a new sofa. Voyage Maison cushion £35.
You can always rely on Georg Jensen to create a striking centrepiece and this sleek silver tray does just that. Georg Jensen Cobra Tray £125.
How gorgeous is this Villeroy & Boch Rose Cottage tableware set? This is such a great gift idea for fans of those old English country garden interior design – think shabby chic styling and a large white dresser to display a mismatch of crockery. Villeroy & Boch Rose Cottage tableware ranging from £19-£35.
Ornamental pieces can really tie a room together and give it that finishing touch – including statement vases likes these from Voyage Elemental. And with watercolour finishes set to be a trend running into 2018, this is definitely a good gift idea for those with a love of interior design. Voyage Elemental vases starting from £55.
I’ve brought together some of my other favourite gift ideas below from Bridgman so take a look and remember, with five showrooms across the country (Enfield, Wilmslow, Walton on Thames, Old Amersham and Winchester), an online store and the choice of ordering a catalogue to shop from the comfort of your armchair, this brand is definitely worth considering if you’re looking for a gifts a little different to what the high street has to offer.
