One of the main teachings of the Law of Attraction is to really work on the art of being grateful for all that you have. They say the more grateful you are, the more positivity and love you get back. Not a bad way to think really is it? Which is why I’ve really tried to focus on “giving back” over the last year or so.
For me, the best part of Christmas is seeing the other person’s reaction when they open their present, and in all honesty, that feeling can become a little addictive. That’s the purely selfish side of doing something for charity, helping a friend or donating money – the way it makes you feel. No-one can deny they like how warm their heart goes when they’ve done something nice for another person right? Even the coldest of hearts.
So when Mattressman reached out to see if I would review a mattress from their website, I knew this was the perfect time to treat my mum and dad. That’s the blessing of getting older – being able to pay back the rents for all they’ve given me over the years. Does a mattress equate to 20,000 lifts into town, 20 years of hot food and enough stationery to fill Hobbycraft? Probably not, but it’s a start at least.
Mum had mentioned a couple of times they needed a new mattress and really wanted to try out one in memory foam to see if it would help her sleep better. So I saw this as a green light to team up with Mattressman and see what we could do to make sure my parents got the best night sleep they could.
The team at Mattressman genuinely could not have been more helpful. From the text I got the day before to let me know the hour delivery time-slot, to the guys that delivered the mattress and didn’t let my dad lift a finger, and the phone call I received after to check everything was OK, it was a high quality of service that, dare I say it, I didn’t expect from an online mattress specialist.
The mattress itself was the Gold Delux by Uno, which has a medium level of support and has a Fresche© adaptive cover that uses fights the grubby bacteria and fungi that can build up inside. Other features include a reflex foam base to support the top layer of Viscofoam, designed to provide optimal pressure relief and comfort. A massive plus point, especially for my mum who suffers from joint pain in her knee, is that the Viscofoam is divided into zones of varying density to tailor support to different parts of the body. So not only does this provide ergonomic support but it also promotes good circulation.
With a huge amount of choice online, from brands such as Silent Night, Airsprung and British Bed Company, there’s definitely something for every budget at Mattressman. And if you’re unsure of ordering before you’ve tried your chosen style out, there’s a filter system for you to whittle your specifications down to suit your needs.
It’s fair to say the Gold Deluxe got the approval of my parents, and I’m riding high on that warm giving glow. If you’re in the market for a new mattress then definitely check out Mattressman and let me know different ways you try to give back to the universe.
*Mattress kindly gifted by Mattressman. Appreciation of my mum and dad all my own.
