How To Use Scripting To Manifest Your Ideal Day (& A Free Prompt Printable)

How to use scripting to manifest your ideal day

Welcome back to a slightly revamped and refreshed Apartment Number 4 (that is, if you’re reading this on your computer or tablet). With some exciting changes on there way to incorporate more lifestyle, career, wellness and manifestation content into the blog, alongside your weekly dose of interiors, I thought it might be nice to coincide that with a lil’ makeover.

Today, however, I wanted to share something I fell in love recently – scripting to manifest my ideal day.

Taking the time to plan my ideal day, to make up my ideal life – from the second I wake up to the time my head hits the pillow – has really enabled me to understand what I want from my future and see my vision for my career, my house, and my overall lifestyle without the foggy glasses on I’ve been wearing recently.

If you’re feeling slightly off kilter or lost in which direction to turn next, this exercise can be a complete game changer. But first let’s take a look at what I mean by scripting.

What is Scripting?

Scripting is a technique used in manifestation where you sit and journal as if your dreams have already happened. Like a “dear diary” moment for your dream life.

When done on a regular basis, it’s designed to help program both your conscious and subconscious mind by focusing on what it is you really want from life and how you will feel when these things arrive. For example, if you want to attract your dream job, you would sit and script along the lines of…

“I’m so happy that I finally work in my dream job as an interior stylist. Waking up this morning I couldn’t wait to get to the office and start planning our next shoot. The team have been so welcoming, and I can’t believe how lucky I am to be getting paid to do a job I truly love.”

So even though you might not be working as an interior stylist (or whatever your dream job may be) right at this moment, scripting allows you to step into that reality and experience how you might feel internally when your dreams become a reality.

How Does Scripting Help Manifest Your Dreams?

Personally, I notice such a shift in attracting things into my life when I take the time to write them down and be specific about what I would like.

When you start to write in a relax, freehand way, your subconscious mind (the part of your brain that acts as the data bank for every single memory, thought and emotion you’ve ever experienced in life) starts to push things to the forefront of your brain such as answers to questions you didn’t realise you knew, things you didn’t realise you wanted, or emotions you thought you’d forgotten about.

It also allows you to become clearer about what you really want from life. When I first started to script, I would notice myself writing things I thought I should write, but when that happened, I quickly stopped, turned a fresh page and started again.

This can happen, especially if you’re worried about somebody reading your journal, but once you forget this (and find a good hiding spot), it becomes much easier to write your truth.  You want to be rich? Write that down. You want to live alone? Write that down.

When it comes to manifestation, the beauty of scripting versus creating a vision board is that you can go into so much more detail and be as descriptive as you’d like – giving the universe a clearer idea of what you’re trying to manifest.

For example, instead of just putting up a picture of Santa Monica on my vision board, I can write…

“I love having the freedom, money, and opportunity to come to Santa Monica for a whole month, and explore LA. Walking on the beach every morning and seeing the California coastline in front of me makes me feel so free and like I can achieve anything.”

When I script on a morning, I feel my vibrations raise almost instantly. Storytelling is a love of mine regardless, so being able to write the story of my own life and see what is actually possible puts me on such a natural high.

So How Do I Script My Ideal Day?

Start from the second you wake up. Think about the bed you wake up in, who you wake up next to, if anybody. What sounds can you hear? Is it still and quiet in the English countryside, or do you hear the busy streets of New York? What time is it? What does your bedroom look like?

Going into as much detail as possible, in the first person and in the present tense, allows you to really feel the emotions you would feel living that life.

I wrote eight pages, back and front, when I first did this exercise. But as I sat and scribbled down whatever was coming into my mind, realisations started to appear. I wanted to wake up in the quietness of the countryside, which isn’t something I’d thought about before. There weren’t any children just yet in my ideal day. I described every single detail of my day, from the underfloor heating to the yoga I did in our huge living room with floor to ceiling windows. I wrote about the wardrobe I had filled with beautiful dresses from Anthropologie, and the job I loved (I didn’t have to manifest much for this as I’m already living it).

It was SO MUCH FUN thinking about all the different parts of my ideal day, and reading it through gave me such clarity about where I see my life progressing over the next couple of years. It gave me a clear vision which then allowed me to start putting steps into action now to make these things happen in my future.

But What Then?

With anything manifestation related there are various views and opinions on whether you should script daily. Time restrictions mean sitting and writing eight pages daily isn’t feasible for everyone, myself included, so I’ve made scripting to manifest a part of my Sunday morning routine, and instead of writing the same day out over and over again, I delve into my future life on holiday, a day off, weekends, amazing things happening with work – and as mentioned above, it’s given me so much clarity over the direction I want to be heading in.

This morning, for example, I wrote about holding a vision board party and having a room of high-vibe women all coming together to plan their futures. So, you know, I’m excited to make that a reality.

What I would recommend, however, is taking the time each morning and each night to sit and read your ideal life script for the week and immersing yourself in the excitement of it becoming a reality. Trust me, you’ll be on such a high. Make it a part of your routine and in 30 days or less, I promise you’ll start to see synchronicities and signs from the universe designed to help you make these plans your every day.
