Let me introduce QUU Design, a lighting brand created by interior designer Heli Mäkiranta in the heart of Finland. You might recall a post I wrote recently about creating a home office within a small space, and within that I mentioned how important lighting can be – especially lighting that doesn’t take up valuable desk space. Which is where the QUU Design pendant lamp steps in. Beautifully designed to marry wood and glass in a signature Nordic fashion, the QUU pendant lamp is both stylish and versatile. Available in a multitude of colour, design, and size combinations, I was kindly invited by the brand to create my own to suit a room of my choice. As soon as I saw the blush pink, I knew I wanted to add a little Finish style to my office. How gorgeous does it look on my pinboard? The wood is sustainably sourced solid ash and is turned into a perfect ball before being carefully hand painted – giving a unique result to each design. Crafted to be set alone or in a group, this light makes quite the impact, despite its simplicity. The collection consists of pastel and neutral shades, but the light bulb itself is fully customisable and can be made-to-order in any colour to suit your interior needs, including white, black, pink and natural ash. Speaking of where she draws her inspiration from, Heli explains; “Light and lamps have always fascinated me. During my studies, I developed different lamp models and dreamt of launching my own collection in the future, which has now become a reality with QUU Design. “My hometown is surrounded by lakes and forest where I get tons of inspiration and nature is an important part of my design. I always try to design products that are long-lasting and make your everyday life more beautiful,” adds the designer. And this QUU Design pendant lamp certainly does that, I’m sure you’ll agree. If you’re looking for a statement lamp, check out the QUU Design website where you can not only shop statement lighting but customise a bespoke design to suit your home.*I was kindly gifted this lamp by QUU Design, but as always my love of blush pink and home office interiors my own.
