I’m writing this post at 1am in the morning, eyes barely staying open but brain too busy to sleep. If you’re a regular reader here at Apartment Number 4 (hello!), you’ll notice that things look slightly different. A little more professional shall we say? I knew as soon as I jumped in head first to my new career as a full-time freelance editor & stylist last month, I wanted to make Apartment Number 4 more than a blog. I wanted to create a brand.
Blogging has been my side hustle for over 8 years now, and following a situation in March of this year where I found myself suddenly without a steady job, and in turn, a steady income, I knew I had two choices. I could carry on with a side hustle and find another job. That was the safe option, right? The one your sensible friends and family would say make.
Or I could turn my hobby into a career, take a leap of faith, trust my gut and believe that the universe had this planned all along.
I went with the latter.
I’ve been riding on the waves of intense emotions the last two months, from frantic worries about paying the bills, to the amazing feeling of joy and disbelief of getting paid to do something I truly love.
Once the madness had settled and adrenaline subsided, I found my stride, put ideas into action and with that came the launch of 4 Magazine – a completely free, directly shoppable magazine which is sent to your inbox every month (subscribe here). Dropping this Friday, I can’t wait for you to read the first issue.
Alongside the blog and the magazine, I knew I wanted to help people first-hand create a beautiful home on a budget. At the very heart of Apartment Number 4, I want to be able to continually inspire and create. Which is why I’m so excited to announce the launch of my £89 Online Interior Design Service.
From consultation to moodboards, shopping lists and styling tips and advice, this online interior design service shows that it can be both attainable and affordable to work with an interior specialist to create an amazing place to rest, eat or sleep. You can discover more about the service here and I can’t wait to get my teeth into new projects.
With the official launch of 4 Magazine taking place this week, a number of exciting brand ambassador partnerships in the pipeline, and the unveiling of my online interior design service, I’m thankful every single day that I get to call this my career.
I really hope you love the new website as much as I do. Have a great Sunday.
