Late last year I spent a lot of time behind the scenes of Apartment Number 4 really getting down to the nitty-gritty behind why I blog and what I wanted to achieve from this space of mine. What did I want to offer you as the reader? And after a lot of notes, doodles and analysing feedback from you guys, I knew in the end it was about creating a beautiful space, whether that be at home, the office or even in your wardrobe, but on a budget. The latter part of that was essential. It was about making aspirational interiors affordable to the likes of you and me. The chance to build a luxury life for less. With that in mind, I’ve really been trying to hone in on that brand mission since the new year and it seems to be really working in terms of my direction, and readership figures.
When you’re moving into your first home, or you’re renting with minimal disposable income while you save for a deposit, buying expensive homeware isn’t the first thing on your list. Which is why I’m a huge advocate of supermarket steals. I don’t mean actually stealing from the supermarket. I’m not that hard up. Supermarket homeware is one of life’s hidden gems if you ask me. It’s just not on the radar when most people start to decorate their home or spruce up their space. Yet there are so many amazing treasures to pick up along with your weekly shopping.
Sainsbury’s is one of my favourite places for home décor bits, so when I got a chance to take a look at its S/S 17 collection, I knew I’d want to share it on here instantly. Split into six themes, including Everyday Luxury, Restoration and Garden Room, there are so many “on-trend” designs that you’d find in much more expensive stores.
I’ve picked out some of my favourite pieces here, and I’m planning on doing a little haul at some point when I can get to one of the bigger stores which has slightly more choice (plus the best chocolate and caramel crunch bars you’ve ever tasted). Anyway, have a great weekend guys and enjoy planning your supermarket sweep.
