Today I wanted to take you around a stunning 1930’s Californian bungalow that was renovated back in 2015. I discovered this place on Inside Out, an Australian interiors magazine and website.

This whole space really captures the mid-century modern interior trend which has made it way over the pond and firmly onto British soil now. Clean white walls are teamed with the use of natural wood throughout the bungalow, from the flooring to the huge sliding door which acts as a divider between the kitchen and walkway. I didn’t actually notice how big this 300kg door was until I put it in proportion to the vase on the shelf. Yikes.

Statement artwork and furniture in a mix of mid-century silhouettes add bursts of colour, while modern pieces like the turquoise metal breakfast bar stools and beaten copper side tables add interest to this 30’s reno.

I love how fresh and airy this space feels, and the open plan design of the kitchen, dining and living space is perfect for a family home. You’ll notice the use of wood runs through the entire bungalow, even through to the bathroom where it works in harmony with chevron floor tiles and marble countertops.

To help you create a style similar to this, I’ve teamed up with Wayfair. This isn’t a sponsored post no dollar exchanged hands, but these pieces can be found as a Bloggers Pick over on the Wayfair website to give my face some publicity. The first image on all the links here are my picks of the website so check them out when you have time – Mirrors | Coffee Tables | Rugs | Occasional Chairs | Pendant Lighting | Artificial Plants.

When I started to look through the Wayfair site, I realised just how many pieces they had which fit this Californian mid-century interior design. What do you think? Is this 30s bungalow somewhere you could see yourself relaxing?
