UPDATING MY KITCHEN WITH SMEG

You know when you’ve dreamt of something for so long, that you start to believe it couldn’t possibly be as good as you’ve imagined. It could be your perfect man, it could be your perfect job. For me? It was my perfect blender – the mint green retro Smeg food blender to be exact. People, this beauty entered my life last week and I haven’t been able to stop staring at her pastel toned curves, the chrome detailing, the power to create a delicious smoothy in just seconds – do I need to go on any further?

In all seriousness though, I’ve been pining after mint green Smeg appliances for so long now. Obviously, the fridge is at the top of my list but whilst I’m saving up, I thought what better way to feed my addiction to pretty pastels than with this food blender. The one room I really dislike in my house is my kitchen, and whilst it’s certainly not the worst space I’ve ever seen, it’s definitely not my personal style – but hey-ho, this is the problem with renting so I just suck it up and continue to update the space with gorgeous decor like cookery books, pretty bowls, gold utensils and prints on the wall.

If I was to design my kitchen from scratch I would absolutely have a mixture of white shaker cabinets on the walls and a deep blue island and lower storage, all with marble surfaces and brass hardware. I think I’d have a warm grey on the walls and white chevron tiles as a splashback. And of course, my mint green Smeg fridge, toaster, blender, food processor, citrus juicer, kettle…

Are you a fan of Smeg’s retro inspired appliances? What colour would you choose?
