Before anyone wonders why I’m suddenly posting about weddings, I haven’t miraculously found someone who wants to put a ring on it – don’t get too excited mum. But I have found myself surrounded by wedding talk recently, with my best friend of twenty six years asking me to be her bridesmaid, and two of my other really close friends getting married – one in New York nonetheless, which I’m so excited for.. With romance in the air, pretty dresses, engagement rings and flowers galore, my mind has started to wander, imagining what my big day might be like.
I’m potentially jumping the gun a little, especially as my groom is currently tall, dark and invisible. But there’s nothing wrong in being prepared right? Take this as just a potential moodboard, it’s not like I have my wedding dress ready and waiting in my wardrobe. Yet.
I always thought I’d have a whimsical, bohemian inspired wedding, but the older I’ve become, the more I crave a simple, intimate ceremony in the city centre, followed by a small meal and celebrations with close friends and family.
Carrie Bradshaw has a lot to answer for, planning to marry Mr Big in New York City Library. Up until then I hadn’t really considered anywhere like that, but then I went to the opening of the Leeds Tiled Hall, which is an amazing space within Leeds City Centre Library and I could just imagine how amazing it would be to get married there. Which leads me onto my dream city wedding. Think an Olivia Palermo wedding top and skirt, pink Malono’s and a simple, but totally chic, wedding breakfast. Take a look at my inspiration below and I’d love to hear what your wedding was like, or how you dream your future wedding to be.
