A STYLISH LA OFFICE TOUR

Today I wanted to take you on a little tour inside the stylish office of venture capital firm Greycroft Partners, which I found on home and interiors website My Domaine. I think an inspirational workspace can definitely help your production levels and if you work in a clinical or sparse environment, then it can be reflected in your mood in the office.

I tried to make my spare bedroom into more of an office space but it just doesn’t have the right feeling yet. I need a bigger desk, more storage space, the bed needs to move (or actually get thrown out and a daybed put in its place), and I need a proper office chair – not the little stool I try and balance on right now. This LA space is a real mix of retro and industrial design with splashes of sleek modern finishes. I really like how each section of the office has its own identity from the blue velvet sofas for the informal seating area, through to the Barista style coffee and breakfast bar, complete with blackboard inspired dark grey painted walls.

The reason I love this office so much is because of the amount of natural light flowing through the space. I think that’s why I don’t work so much in my makeshift office, because it’s north facing to the back of the apartment and it feels so dull in there – plus I hate working on a computer screen under artificial lights for too long. My old room in my house share in London was right up in the attic and I had these huge skylights which let in, or hid, as much light as you needed, which was perfect. Now I just have these god awful net curtains which the previous tenant put up.

Anyway, enough of my window rants – enjoy the pictures of this office space and I’ll keep you updated on any changes I’ve got planned for mine.
