GET THE LOOK OF LAUREN CONRAD’S HOME

Sorry this little home tour is a day late – I’m heading over to Ibiza next week so spent most of yesterday sorting out life admin, trying on bikinis, wondering why I’d eaten so many chicken nuggets since last summer – you know the drill. But today I wanted to take you around the amazing home of Lauren Conrad – the original girl boss in my opinion. I wrote a piece about LC and how she’d been one of my girl boss inspirations since the very beginning of The Hills (Laguna Beach not so much), which you can read here, and it’s fair to say she’s now one of my interior idols as well.

From her business with The Little Marketplace to her collection with Papercrown, there’s nothing this entrepreneur can’t turn her hand to – including decorating it seems. This West Coast Californian house is filled with natural light, with a colour palette of bright, fresh tones next to raw wood and soft textures. You’ll be able to see from the images shot for My Domaine below, it looks super inviting and somewhere that instantly draws you in and makes you feel at home.

The first room Lauren worked on when she and husband, William, moved in, was the kitchen – completely renovating the space, adding white subway tiles and marble countertops. How gorgeous is all that open storage?

There’s definitely a mid-century modern feel to the place, with Danish furniture such as the armchairs above and the side cabinet in walnut. And while there’s a TV room, there’s also space for the couple to retreat with no distractions – apart from the odd board game or two. Just look how beautifully light this room is – I love the symmetry of the windows and the curved fireplace in the centre.

As always I wanted to show you how you can create a similar look yourself on a slightly more modest budget – apart from the free standing bath which comes in at £279.99 but hey, you have to invest sometimes right? What do you think about the way Lauren has decorated this Californian family home? Somewhere you could live yourself? Let me know if any of the pieces below catch your eye.

And before I forget, if you haven’t signed up to my weekly newsletter coming every Tuesday, then pop to the sidebar (which, if you’re reading on a phone, is at the bottom of the page) and be sure to add your name and email address. It’s going to be filled with so much interior inspiration and I can’t wait for you to see the first one.

  1. Loved this post – just moved into my own (rented) home and I have the basics but it’s definitely a work in progress, and on a budget. Lauren Conrad has such a beautiful style, so I’ve definitely taken inspiration and will be picking up little pieces as I go along 💕
