With wedding season in full swing, it seemed only right that today I put together a decorative post with a bridal twist. I love the idea of love, and even though I’m not planning my own wedding just yet, I could still spend hours pouring over bridal shoots, wedding dresses and colour schemes. I think there’s a strong possibility I was a wedding planner in an alternative life, and I’m so looking forward to the day I can start finding venues and organising my own. I’ve always loved the idea of a small, intimate reception outside, with chandeliers hanging from trees, fairy lights twinkling in the background and friends and family sitting around on mismatched chairs as we toast to the future.
Today I wanted to share 20 of my favourite outdoor wedding reception ideas, from a small gathering on the Santorini coastline – I mean could you get any more picturesque – to a Tuscan ceremony covered with foliage and candles. Note, neither of these places are close the UK because let’s face it, the British weather is hardly reliable is it. In the run up to the wedding you can trust that most things will go right, like your bridesmaids throwing you an almighty send-off with a little help from The Bridal Shower Company, or that your groom will look incredibly handsome in his tuxedo, or that your wedding favours will turn up (for my US readers Wedding Favy’s online store has some amazing favour ideas if you’re searching for something original or personalised), but the one thing you absolutely can’t control is the weather. But some of these ideas are so beautiful I’d even be willing to risk getting the umbrella’s out for a little while.
Scroll down for a whole heap of wedding inspiration, from the table decorations to lighting and seating arrangements. I’d love to know if you’ve ever considered an outside wedding reception like this.
